Christmas ending
Christmas has been busy [as the festive season is wont to be].
I knit a Saxon braid scarflette in the geranium coloured Bendigo alpaca - it was a trifle rushed, as I was knitting until 8pm on Christmas day to give to my grandmother the following day. In addition to the irritating little mistakes I made along the way [that I didn’t notice until rows and rows later], I neglected to get a photo of my FO. This means that my first serious cabled endeavour has no photographic record to prove that I can in fact complete something that I never want to do again.
Cables and I are not friends! I admire their beauty and how their complexity can add to something lovely to simple garments [ I am in love with IK’s tangled yoke cardy], but working them is not something that brings me any joy.
More successfully, I have also knit a stocking and moss stitch cushion cover in a French roving type yarn. It is a fairly rustic wool [ie I have been picking bindis out of it as I knit]. Once I have found needles to weave all the ends in, I will post photos!
